This time of year is about holding close what we love most: family, friends, the dreams we nurture, and the important moments with our people.

Who Are Your People?

For many of us, this doesn’t always mean family. It can be anyone in your life who roots for you. The ones who support your dreams and would do anything you asked, if they thought it would help. Those are your people.

This holiday season, I’m working on staying in touch with my gratitude for everything that is good in my life. I think about the year ahead, which is already filled with the glowing promise of new personal and professional successes. And this brings me to the topic of my latest video.

Because so many people have asked me why the word martini is used in the title of my book, it made sense to use this day - this moment - to shed light on it - WHY, KELLI, WHY? WHY A MARTINI TO TALK ABOUT MENOPAUSE?

Well, I’ll tell you.

Traditionally, we women have had to live in the shame and shadows as we navigated the changes in our bodies. From puberty to our later years, finding support has been a struggle for many of us. No more, ladies. The idea behind using the martini as a metaphor is that we don’t have to navigate our changing bodies in isolation. We can talk about our worries and wonders with out trusted friends, partners, and health care team. We don’t have to feel alone.

Your people remind you of that.

And if you can shake a delicious drink while you connect with your people - all the better! Remember: it’s not about WHAT you’re drinking, but WHO you’re drinking with.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday with YOUR people. May they keep your lights lit, and your hearts full.
